Lightning

When I sit on my roof I can see for miles
And miles
I can see all of the trees and other roofs
And when the sun is setting
All of the reds and yellows and oranges
Come together
And make me want to sit up there forever
But what I love most about
Sitting up there
Is when there is a storm in the distance
When lightning strikes across your whole field of vision
No words can describe the intense feeling I get
When lightning rips the sky open
Fire and heat tearing open the reds and yellows and oranges
Tearing it apart
Then sealing the wound
And it all goes back to normal
Until another strike
And the chaos ensues
